Commments: I'd like to say "howdy" to all the 462s that I previously worked/partied with. I must be gettin' old because there is NO DOUBT in my military mind that the better days were before this "new Air Force" came around. Man! We may have been hung over and couldn't pass a physical, but we'd load like hell and still float a kegger afterwards. Had a great fun career but it was "funner" in the "old days". Younger troops would never believe that we used to have topless dancers in the NCO Club overseas. Drop me a line and say hi through email. Great to be retired--no regrets on being a 462. as a 431x1 on F-4's at DM in Tucson and Cam Ranh Bay Vietnam, also crewed the
SR-71 at Beale AFB.
Comments: As a 462X0, I was mostly assigned
to the Weapons Release/Gun Shop. At CNA, Holland (1977-79)I was assigned to
Weapons Release Gun shop and Weapons Loading, all at the same time, advantages
of a one squadron outfit.

Commments: 1969-70: Enlisted US Army, MOS: 95B20 Military Police PFC Basic Trn: Ft. Lewis,WA. 1969.
Assigned duty at Ft. Jackson, SC. 1969- 1970 - worked in the Stockade as an admittance clerk for prisoners being incarcerated, or sent to Ft. Riley, KS for futher incarceration/or retraining.
1970-1972: Long Binh S. Viet Nam 615 MP Co, 95th MP Bn, 18th MP Bdg was attached to the Long Binh Field Office, Det C,8th CID as a MP Investigator. Promoted thru the ranks of PFC, Sp E-4, and Sgt E-5 while in that assignment. I was awarded a Bronze Star for planning and assiting in arrangment and participation in a drug raid that netted over $2 million dollars worth of 98%pure heroin that was being smuggled into S. Viet Nam by North Viet Nam operatives, and sold to US Troops.
Sep 1972 assigned to the MP Company, Ft. Hamilton, Bklyn, NY. Worked as Dsgt and in the Company Training Office.
In 1974 I was sent to S.Korea 38th Artl Bge, as a Sentry Dog Handler. I was promoted to the rank SSG E-6. I dept., that assignment after completion, and was reassigned to 8th Army Military Police HQ. Yong Son S. Korea. In 1976 I departed Korea and was assigned to the MP Police Unit at Seneca Army Depot, NY. I was a Desk Sgt and a squad leader. Nature of duties was at the time classified. Current security classification is not known to me at this time, and the current classification of my duties following that assignment is unk to me at this time. I departed Seneca Army Depot in 1978. My final assignment was that of the Physical Security NCOIC for the 2nd SUPCOM HQs. 7th Corp, Stuttgart, Gemany. I remained in that assignment until Sep 1983 at which time I retired from the US Army with an effective date of 1 Oct 1983.
I am now retired and live in Montrose, CO with my wife Terri.

I loaded f-101's, F-106's, F-105's. Separated in 70.
Commments: Thanks for the great site! During my tour at the gunshop at Takhli we kicked major ass. With the bombing halt, Tet, and a drastic reduction in manpower, we basically worked a maximum effort, every day. during the gulf war I watched the gun plumbers pushing the load carts around loading the F-16's, and it brought back memories. Here's to us 462's,461's, and the pilots that were nice enough to deliever our ordinance. One complaint, there should be a section for Buck Sgt. in the rank area. I was a Sgt.,not a Senior Airman. And actually, I was assigned a TSgt's job as an Airman second class when I got to Takhli. It was the experience of a lifetime, and it was enough. Comments: It's been 10 years since I joined (6 since I left) and I have to say "It was worth every day I was there". Just have a few howdy-do's to mention. Gary McClure, Paul Graham & Wall-eye Jacobs -> The Bass Fishing sucks out here. Brian Head, Greg Orr and the rest of ya drunk airmen - ya bastads give me a beer! TSgt. McDaniels - I still have a fear of "yellow stickies" thanks to you. Curtis Buirse - you still pimpen them finance babes. To anyone else I forget - its' all good ya'll have a good day now. To all you new airmen out there - Its the people you work with that makes the job suck less.

the way! I have been in since Oct 92 and have been stationed at Misawa AB, Japan
(14th FS) Mar93-Mar95. Then got stuck with Minot AFB, ND (72BS and 23BS) Apr95-May97
then took the `ol Osan Tour (36FS) May97-May98. Now I am stationed here in Kadena
(Jun98-??) working out of the 33D Rescue Squadron. How I got rescue is beyond
me. STAY 462 AND MAKE THEM CRY

Commments: True 462! I've enjoyed the ride my fellow weaponz. I will forever take with me the fun, comradarie, bragging rights, teamwork and pride of being a loader. If given the chance I would do it again, and again, and again. Clark AB was a blast! Grand Forks was good but froze my ass off. SAC train killer. Turkey was great, Germany even better. Edwards was fun. Shady-J was fantastic. Great bunch of load toads. Mark Hosier, Mike Johnson, Billy "kid" Anderson, Ski, Chuck, I love you guys! Thanks for keeping me sane!!!!
