Good stuff, Honcho. I mention Joseph Campbell's books because his definition of mythology is: OTHER people's religion.

Not less than four occurrences in history have experienced a 'special child' born in their respective Hemispheres. I reveled in the question by Mr. Campbell, " Do any of these stories sound familiar?" If I asked the Pope, I'd be escorted away to a quiet place and never heard from again. No precedent there, huh? LOL

    Oscar,

Two of the most eye opening classes I took in college were Astronomy and Geology. I always recommend them for those who need a reality check.

Agree with the freedom aspect, for that is one of the building blocks of this Nation. Freedom FROM religion, not freedom OF religion. Two and a half centuries later, we find ourselves with a completely different worldview. One absolutely cannot own another human nor beat up on anyone. The mind is ever expanding almost in step with the universe itself. I recommend one study astronomy, not astrology, and read all the mythology books written by Joe Campbell that one can lay hands upon. The voices in the head will slowly subside and clarity will feel like someone threw open a window in the brain. Just a humble opinion from an agnostic pantheist, sorry if I offended. "My thought on Theology is: the universe was designed, but never signed."

Not sure where this is going. Seems to me that eventually we will lose sight of the principles and values from which this country was founded. The Government should get out of religion altogether; respect the individual's right to worship and allow them to find the appropriate location; off base.
